Goodwood Racecourse

Within sight of Goodwood Racecourse and sheltering below the heights of the forest that bears its name is the lovely Hamlet of Charlton.

Nestling in the heart of the South Downs the Hotel is an ideal base for exploring the numerous attractions of the area, in particular the marvellous walks and Horse Riding through the Downs.

Nearby is the spectacularly located Goodwood Racecourse with its many meeting from May to September. Also Goodwood House and Golf Club are well worth a visit and Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit about 3 miles from Woodstock House Hotel with its special motoring events.

There are many places of interest to visit in this part of West Sussex, including such gems as the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Petworth House, Uppark House and other National Trust Properties.

Also there are the Gardens of West Dean College set against the backdrop of the South Downs, and just to the West of Chichester is Fishbourne and its Roman Palace.

Chichester is home to the Internationally renowned Chichester Festival Theatre which offers a wide variety of Plays, Musicals, Ballets and Concerts throughout the year.
To the North of Charlton is the beautiful market town of Midhurst, famous for its Cowdray Estate and International Polo Centre.
